Integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles are increasingly vital for the alternative assets industry. Fund managers are responding to growing demand from institutional investors seeking to allocate to ESG-committed funds as sustainable investing becomes a requirement for most Allocators in funds.
Screening, ESG integration, impact investing, thematic investing, and active engagement are all becoming popular across equities, bonds and illiquid strategies. However, many of investors’ biggest challenges revolve around the difficulty of obtaining consistent, standardised ESG data.
On 2nd March 2021, we had the privilege of hosting two senior directors, Olivier Lebleu at CFA Institute and Cas Sydorowitz at Georgeson, discussing:
- The future of ESG & sustainable investing
- Improving transparency in measuring ESG accountability and tracking how ESG investing is evolving
- Activities in voting and engagement on ESG issues
- Activist investing focused on ESG issues including NGO’s impact
- Real-life success stories
